Recent News

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you will be agreeing with this demand and speak for our ICT professionals brothers/sisters (including yourself) who had been continuously deprived in terms of getting national projects.

Whatever project government/non- government/ multinational takes, they prefer to recruit foreign consultants. We can recall a number of incidents where they have selected poorer quality foreign resources despite of having proven and qualified local resource.  And you know quite well that how much our government/non- government organizations spend as consultancy fees from every donor funded project.

It is needless to mention that the issue is not about our qualification. The issue is more about satisfying some people (avoiding national interest). But still we do not consider that our ICT professionals are being rewarded internationally for their innovation & hardwork. Number local professionals already achieved number of difficult & exceptional international certification in almost all ICT areas (Network, Security, Project Management, Software, etc).

But somehow our bureaucrats still not less interested of bringing so called foreign expert (!!!). No matter if the foreign expert doesn’t have adequate and proven knowledge on that subject matter. We don’t mind if the foreign consultant spends full working hours by playing golf and enjoys 15 days leave in a month (as they becomes exhausted by that tight (!!!) assignment). Doesn’t matter if that expert refuses to take the accountability of failure.

Whereas we can higher far better quality resource form local who will be working hard with a patriotic feeling and commitment to the nation with accountability. Whatever we pay to them, the money will stay within the country and that would help the economy directly.

On top of that if our local resource somehow gets the opportunity in any project by mistake, the payment becomes less than ten times. And of course we are expected to work as if we don’t feel stressed and we don’t have life. Question of reward is treated as over expectation.

We feel surprised when some of our bureaucrats still comments that we are staying back in Bangladesh because we don’t have any other choice and patriotism is just an excuse. Whereas our politicians are regularly requesting our qualified NRB’s to come back and serve the nation.

Guys. Will continue being deprived this way?

If we do not take the initiative right now, our future generation will also suffer by same problem. So lets put our hands together to bring this issue to the government for resolution. I am proposing below initiatives. Please help me to add more.

  1. Apply a proper  ICT resource/ consultant recruitment policy for any government/non- government projects.
  2. Revise the current policy of recruiting foreign worker in any multinational/ local company.
  3. Incentive on recruiting local staff for senior position.
  4. More TAX on foreign senior ICT workers.

We consider this government as IT Pro government. Moreover we have seen concern ministers are quite enthusiastic such changes. Now we need to push those issues to move forward. Once we get this thing done, it will not only help the nation my friend, it will help you personally.
